Cyberpunk 2077: No Longer a Revolution.
In terms of optimization, I don't think CDR is a publisher that has experience with porting their games to console platforms in the most perfect way. CP77 is most optimized for PC and I can admit that is true when the performance of the game on PC is excellent. I am using a mid-range PC, i5-9400f, RX 580 with 16gb RAM and the game is on HDD. At low settings I can get 80-90fps, increase a little on High Texture to 60fps, mid settings to 50-60fps and there is no spike or lag. However, after investigating I realized a few things, CDR has set the default settings wrong for PC and makes the user's GPU not work properly with its capacity. They set the limit of VRAM usage to 3gb like the PS4 and Xbox One systems. And it greatly affects the performance of the game such as load time, rendering time, ...
While my VGA has 8gb of VRAM, Capcom games to produce beautiful images and not affect the performance too much also consume about 6gb of VRAM, while its original setting is only 3gb. And it is true that after I raised the limit, the game gave even better performance than before, and the images were still very beautiful. But at the same time, I realized that CP77 is a current-gen game, they made this game for mid-range to high-end PC systems, and is best optimized on PS5, Xbox One X/S with the hardware capabilities of those systems. Currently, the best system to experience CP77 is PC. Playing the last-gen version of CP77 on last-gen systems or even through the backward compatibility feature of current-gen systems will still not give you the fullest experience.
But like I said, I was too hasty with CP77. I think CDR also started to realize that because they were also pressured by the community when they had to delay the game 3 times and were forced to launch the game when it was not ready, leading to CP77 not having a really explosive launch. After the 1.04 patch was released and I spent about 35 more hours playing it, I no longer encountered fatal bugs but only bugs with comedy value. This makes me feel more hopeful about the future of CP77, on the day the game is bug-free and we will have the most complete experience.
It's not the first time because TW3 was also considered a hotpot of mixed bugs when it was released, but later we all know how successful it was. So let's give CDR a chance. They announced two bug fixes this month, followed by two major patches in January and February next year. But for now, it's going to take a minus from me.
